The Deckmaster must be a card that can exist in the Main Deck (no Fusions, Synchros, or Xyz) and can be Normal Summoned/Set. In addition to the above, when building a deck, each player must choose a monster card to act as their Deckmaster. As in the normal TCG, cards default to a maximum of 3 copies per deck, but the usual TCG Forbidden/Restricted list applies. As in the normal TCG, a player can have an Extra Deck, consisting of up to 15 cards.
This ruleset is not meant to be a perfect representation of the gameplay in the video game changes have been made both for balance and to (hopefully) make the ruleset easier to understand. Below is that ruleset, somewhat rewritten and updated to account for changes in the game in the time since I posted the previous version. Back in 2009, I created a ruleset meant to adapt the Duelists of the Roses gameplay for use with actual TCG cards. For those who don't, it basically used a ruleset that was kinda based on the TCG/OCG, but also incorporated movement and a few other aspects that made it differ heavily from the TCG/OCG.
So, some of you may remember the old PS2 game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists of the Roses.
